How To Get Started with Laravel Framework : Tutorial for Beginners

A friend of mine who read my article blog about Laravel installation is asking if I could write at least on how to get started with Laravel Framework. I am not that confident with Laravel since I have more exposure to Code Igniter than Laravel but I can at least walk you through on how to get started with Laravel.

First of all, you need to create a new project.

To create a new project, open your Git bash and go to your working directory... In my end, I go to "cd C:/xampp/htdocs".

Create a project by running the following command:

composer create-project laravel/laravel ProjectName --prefer-dist

Your ProjectName is actually what you want to name to your folder. If your project is about a simple dashboard where you can add, edit and remove items.. You can just name it ItemDashboard or any name of your choice. It doesn't matter for the whole coding concept but it's still a good practice to name your project after its content.

After a couple of minutes of waiting, you now have your new Laravel project! ☺

Let's preview if we really have installed Laravel framework successfully.

In your Git bash, type in the path to your project. So in my end, it's cd C:/xampp/htdocs/ProjectName. Then run - php artisan serve. Check by going to http://localhost:8000/. You should see Laravel's "You have arrived." message.

Congratulations! You are ready.. ☺

4. The lender has the option to claim you or not. (but let me tell you, 97% of applicants are claimed and successfully lend).

5. After the lender claimed your profile, the system will automatically sends signal to the awesome people working in loan solutions.

6. Somebody will call you and confirm the procedure you are currently doing depending on the lender.

7. .. and tadaaa.. you got your money!

Isn't it simple? You don't have to look for your lenders because they already prepared everything for you.

How to get a loan without a job or a credit card?

A friend of mine came to me and ask me this question. Isn't it interesting to know if you can get a loan when you are jobless? A lot of people might think how will they get a loan without a job.

The most difficult situation you are in is being unwaged. If you're jobless, it will be very difficult to supply the need of your family especially in terms of food putting into account that it would be very difficult to feed yourself alone!

Is there a way for you to get a loan? Is there a place for you to run for a help? Can you get a loan when you're unwaged?

Unfortunately, there is no way you can go to a trusted lender if you are jobless. the only way you can do loan is when you loan to a relative or a family friend.

How to Install Dota2 in your computer

Are you one of those who wants to let go the old Dota and upgrade to the later version which is Dota2? You keep on looking on your seatmate's monitor but you don't know how to get started. I use to be like you. =)

First of all, you need to install steam in your computer to have Dota2. In installing steam, go to the steam website .

1. Download Steam

2. Run to start the installation

3. Go through the installation wizard, which will include a license agreement, a connection speed setting, a language selection window, and a destination folder selection

Wait for a couple of minutes for your steam to be completely installed in your computer. Once you have your steam installed, proceed to creating an account. Signing up process in steam is completely the same with the other websites. Once done, you are good to go! ☺

You can now proceed in installing Dota2...

1. Search Dota2 in the search bar.

2. Click on install button.

Wait a couple of minutes while steam is downloading files for Dota2. Installing Dota2 is a bit longer compared to installing steam because it contains more files and they're heavier. Wait for about 1 to 3 hours for you to completely installed Dota2. Time of waiting may depends on how fast your internet connection is.

How to install Laravel Framework

Are you a PHP web developer and interested in using laravel framework? You go to the laravel website - http://laravel.com/ - but don't understand what he is talking about?

No worries, you are not alone.

I am interested in using laravel framework as well. I went to the website and I read ... and read  .... and read ... then leave. I do not understand the whole process. I am using windows 7 OS in case you want to know. =)

Here's what I did:

1. First, make sure you have PHP 5.3.7 version or greater. This is one of the main requirements so you can install Laravel.

2. Next, Download Laravel from: https://github.com/laravel/laravel/archive/master.zip

3. Extract Laravel into the htdocs folder for XAMPP or www for WAMP

4. Download Composer from: https://getcomposer.org/Composer-Setup.exe

5. Enable openssl from all php.ini files. In case you can't locate your php.ini file, open folder where your XAMPP or WAMP is located. use the search bar and type "php.ini" without quote.

6. Install Composer into the same directory php.exe is located. PHP.exe in my end is located in /../XAMPP/PHP/php.exe

7. Now, using your command prompt, go to the folder where you put your extracted laravel folder. (Refer to number 3)

8. AFter that, type in command - composer install

9. Now you can install Laravel by issuing the following command from your terminal:

composer create-project laravel/laravel your-project-name --prefer-dist

Wait a couple of minutes... Patience is a virtue. hehehe... and you're set. You may now go to http://laravel.com/docs/quick#installation and follow the instructions under "Via Composer".

How to cancel a subscription, automatic billing or recurring payment in Paypal?

Have you paid for a tool/service online? You will no longer need the tool/service so you have to cancel the automatic payment. But the problem is... how to cancel a subscription? :3

I checked on PayPal and this is what they have in their help center.

Cancelling a subscription cancels all future scheduled payments of that subscription. A subscription can be cancelled up until three business days before the next scheduled payment.

How to cancel a subscription?

1.      Log in to your PayPal account.

2.      Click Profile near the top of the page.

3.      Click My money.

4.      Click Update beside 'My pre-approved payments.'

5.      Click the name of the subscription you wish to cancel.

6.      Click Cancel.

If you don’t have a PayPal account, you should contact the merchant directly to cancel the agreement.

Please note that after cancelling a payment, subscription or automatic billing agreement, you are still required to pay the merchant for the goods or services you have received up until the cancellation is processed.

Do you agree if I will say saving money is much easier when said than put into action? Money is the only thing that is very hard to keep. You can keep a promise but not money. lol. But kidding aside, the most challenging start - up for people planning to save money is to spend less! Keep track of your expenses, how much money will you save and where will you put your money while making sure that it stays there? Let's learn together on how to save money wisely...

The very first thing that you have to consider before anything else is "CLEARING" all your debts.

I understand that it's hard to clear debts especially if there are a lot of things happening that are unexpected. To avoid unexpected debts due to unexpected issues, make sure that aside from saving extra money, you are also putting something aside as emergency funds. It is very useful when there are emergency expenses so, there is no need for you to use your savings or worse borrow money.

Set SAVING GOALS

Your goal can be short term. Let's say you want to buy a laptop. Search for available laptops online and in offline stores and check for prices. For long term on the other hand, needs a very deep thinking... Long term includes retirement, so it needs to have a lot more planning, and you'll also need to figure out how investments will help you achieve your goals.

Set TIME FRAME

Set a date when is it possible for you to achieve a specific ammount for you to buy your laptop, etc.

Figure out Weekly/Monthly savings

Calculate how much will you save in every week/month for you to figure out how much will you start saving. I suggest the same ammount of savings per month.

Keep track all your EXPENSES

Your savings will be base on two things - how much you make and how much you spend. Since you have nothing to do for your salary, you have to take control of how much you spend. It's smart to take a look at what you are spending. List down all your expenses and manage to lessen them.

Keep a small notebook with you at all times. Record all your expenses and save the receipts... Have them summarized in a final expenses paper (Can be a big notebook or a spreadsheet program).

Your GOAL

After some couple of months, you can surely buy your Savings GOAL. Make it your inspiration for your next plan.. =))

How to deactivate/disable Facebook Account

People tend to disable Facebook accounts for some personal reasons. One of which is that he has a very bad image that is viral in different social networking sites and he wants to get rid of those accusations for a moment. You have to deactivate so your account will no longer exist in Facebook for as long as you want.

First, click on the account menu  at the top right of any Facebook page
Then, Select Settings -> Click Security in the left column -> Click Deactivate your account

If you've decided to deactivate your account, your Timeline, post and all information that are asscciated with you and your profile will all disappear from facebook right away. So, your friends or any other people in Facebook will no longer be able to search you or view any information about you.

I hope you make it to the point that you have deactivate your account.. =))

To test if it's really deactivated, go to your friend and ask him to login into his account and search for your profile; If he wasn't able to see it, congratulations! You made it!

If you want to reactivate your account, you simply need to login with your old credentials! That's it! All your information will be restored right away.. But just a simple reminder, you will need to have access to the login email address for your account in order to reactivate it.

7. If a website asks you to login using your personal credentials, make sure you check the domain first. For example, if you are logging into Gmail, always make sure the domain name for the page you are on is the correct gmail.com.

More likely, scammers are putting there website live and just earn thousands of money without sweating. Most of my friends are concern about buying twitter followers online. A lot of websites are selling twitter followers and they are afraid that they will end up buying to scammers. •     Asks for money to enter a contest, win a sweepstakes or lottery, or claim a prize and Refuses to send you written information before you agree to buy or donate.

•     Refuses to give you the details of the offer before you make any payment.

•     Requests your bank account or credit card number when you are not making a purchase with that account.

•     Uses scare tactics or pressure, so that you act immediately.

•     Private listing at Whois, or the listing names are associated with other scams. Go to www.whois.net and look up the Website domain name.
